My interests cover just about all of aeromodelling, and I prefer to build my own models. Do you have any members interested in free flight and control line? I'll look you up when I move. Super web site. Cheers, Keith. Name: Mike Ashcroft CommentsJust to remind you that our Swap Meet is on March 28th '06 at the Deanwater Hotel, Wilmslow Rd., Woodford. One mile west of BAe Systems. I am going to send you an historic document. Yours, Richard Drabble Name: A.J. Senol CommentsGreat site! Name: Chris CommentsGood luck and success for 2006. A link to ModelShack would be much appreciated - "ModelShack, Ballymena and online, for radio controlled planes, helicopters, cars and trucks". Regards, Chris. Name: Victor Miscampbell CommentsI was fascinated to see a scaled up model of Vic Smeed's freeflight Pushy Cat. About 45 years ago I had a model with a DC.Merlin .75 and it was only one of the few ff .models that would R.O.G. On one flight it caught a thermal late in the afternoon and after following it for many miles, we gave up. That evening I got out the balsa and starting building another one, when I received a phone call from a dairy farmer over 25 miles away. While bringing in the cows for milking he had seen the model making a perfect landing nearby and seeing the address contacted me. Does anyone know if Vic Smeed is still alive?. I now fly helis and 1/3 scale fixed wing although slowing down a lot these days. Name: G H Robson CommentsInteresting site. Name: Lewis Pollock CommentsA good site. At this moment in time, Sept 05. I am building the Deagostini Spitfire & the Hachette Red Baron. Cheers! Name: Lawrence Brammer CommentsThank you for information on your website. I am a 80Year old still butchering balsa and still getting a thrill from model building and flying. I was looking for an old friend named Dave Cassels who was with me in the RAF and came from Paisley and we aeromodelled together in 1944. If he is still around perhaps you know him. Thanks for sharing your club with me. Good luck Name: John Beech CommentsI really enjoyed looking at your web site. There is lots of information and good photographs. I am currently a member of Sealand MAC - not far away. I would be very interested in joining your club too. Would it be possible to discuss this on Friday 1st July at the Gayton Clubhouse? Or should I wait until the monthly meeting on the 15th? Best wishes, John Beech Name: Deb CommentsI wanna have a go. Name: T. Hornby CommentsHello, I'm 16 years old and have been creating C models and flying them for all my life. The best accomplishment i have achieved so far is in a scale size Lancashire Bomber (Wingspan of 21ft and 7in). I admired you website very much so and hope to see more pictures up soon. (Am working on a Cessna Sea plane at the moment) Regards TH Name: Rochelle CommentsEnjoyed lookin' round your site; what do ya think of ours?! Name: Tom Watson CommentsGood site. We could do with one. Name: Rolf Ejme CommentsNice site. Hello from Norway. Name: Noel Branson CommentsReturning (after 20 years) to aeromodelling with DeAgostini Spitfire. See you soon! Name: Curtis Owst CommentsCan I join the club? I am 13 and I have one White Crane model plane (remote control) and one I am in the process of building. Name: Phil Smith CommentsJust had my first glimpse of your newsletter site and am blown away. As I write the newsletter for my local club I feel it's what I would want my own script to aspire to one day. Interesting, informative and lots of images - excellent! So how do I do it ? Name: Jim Stevenson CommentsNice web site. One suggestion if I may.. I always like to see a photo of some sort in web site home page. It could be placed where visitors are asked to sign book, to the right of the club name as it tells a story at a glance. Good web site though our club has still to have one constructed. We have about 30 members and a great flyng site. Good Luck, Jim Name: Dave Wakeham CommentsI read the reference to late 60's early 70's and exhibition flying at the Summer Fair on the Puddydale, and the scale model of a WWII bomber was a Lancaster, owned by Morris Bodey. He used to fly real planes too. I also remember the Cox 049 glow engine and a few people from them days. Have fun. Name: Norman Robson CommentsHello. I don't really know where to start but looking at your web page I thought you may be able to give me some information regarding how to get started. I have been sailing model boat's for some years and would now like to try my hand flying. Would you be in a position to pass on any information regarding the nearest club around the Scarborough area? My regards, Mr Norman Robson...... thank you. Name: Gary Hall CommentsBrowsing the RC web sites came across yours. I used to fly at Warrington, Cheshire before I emigrated to America. Name: Dave CommentsGreat website. Brilliant links. Like to visit some time. Name: Darrell Jackson CommentsGreat flying site. Nice information on the going on of the club. Name: Philip Charles Hayward Name: Jim Curtis CommentsThere does not appear to be a facility for non-flying members who just want to watch at a reduced membership fee. Regards Jim Name: Ray Kretchmar CommentsGreat site. Lived in Chester during the war. Free flight and solids. Ever hear of a modeller from Chester Lionel (Sunny) EVANS, my old aircraft chum? Cheers, Ray Kretchmar Name: Tony Tomlin CommentsI was pleased to find a Pushy Cat article on your club site. I built a X 1.5 Pushy Cat around 6 years ago. I used an OS 26 with a 10*6 prop. To overcome the inherent Dutch rolling I increased the fin and rudder size by around 25% and also fitted the engine with 5+ degrees right thrust. This gave me an easy to fly model with good rudder authority. Incidently I also used an all moving tailplane. The model at present is being refurbished and I am fitting the `shoe` to enable me to use the model as a waterplane! Name: Markie CommentsNice website, I've added a link to it on my forum site. Hope you all have great success with your models in the future. TTFN Markie www.radiomodels.co.uk Name: Ian Tedds CommentsGlad to see the club is still going well. Name: Terence Jones CommentsGreat site, keep it up. It's of special interest to me as I grew up in Connah's Quay, but have now settled in Coleraine, N. Ireland. My main interest is R/C Fixed Wing and Rotary Craft but have dabbled in all aspects of our hobby. Happy Landings, and if you're in N. Ireland call into B.M.F.C. - you can be sure of a warm welcome, Tel. Name: Robert CommentsI am new to flying and would like to start by flying gliders to get used to it. Please let me know if you do this. Name: Dave CommentsGreat site ! What a lovely flying park you have!! I would give my right nut to have that down with us. Regards, Dave. Flair Piper Cub. OS40 (Had so many dings, she weighs nearly 1/2lb more than when I made her!) Flair Pup 4st baby. Slow and docile. Name: Mary Johnson CommentsI have been given a lot of old airplane magazines from 1980's (Pilot & Popular Flying). Are they of any use to you before I dispose of? Please let me know asap. Name: Robert Elliman CommentsVery good site. Name: Keith Shaw CommentsHi, as a past member, it was nice to see HMAC has it's own website, and news to me that you have now changed your name. Great to see that the club is still going strong, and that clubhouse, flying field, etc. are still in the same place! Now that my family have grown up a little, I am thinking of resuming my modelling activities, perhaps towards the end of the year. I look forward to paying you all a visit in the near future. Web site looks good. Regards, Keith. Name: Rob Rooker CommentsHi, I'm looking for 152 Sqn aircraft to be pictured and put on to the web site, any help would be very welcome, Thank you. Name: David Knowles Name: Dennis G Garsden CommentsMy fifty year dream has now been realised as I am the proud owner of a radio controlled 'Arising Star Sports Trainer'. Many thanks to Brian Johnson for its assembly. Sunday 28th should see its first flight, weather permitting. I do hope it doesn't end up like a number of planes that featured in 'Hawk March 2004'. What an impressive newsletter this is. Congratulations to its authors. Name: Neil Mirrlees CommentsThanks for the great site. It is very interesting and well put together. I used to be a member of the original club back in the late 60's early 70's when we flew at the football field on Chester High Road. I seem to remember that the older experienced flyers used to do exhibition flying at the Summer Fair on the Puddydale. There was always a scale model of a WWII bomber but the owner used to have terrible trouble getting all four engines running simultaneously for long enough to get it off the ground. I guess technology has improved since then. My own first powered model was a control line 1:24 scale Spitfire (in plastic, factory built) powered by a Cox 049 glow engine. It only flew once, half a circuit, at Whitfield Common before turning in towards my Father and I in the centre then screaming overhead six foot off the ground before burying itself in the ground. I recovered the engine and thereafter used it in various non-flying wings, cars, boats and other ungainly vehicles before giving up modelling and getting interested in wine and women. Anyway, I thought I would drop you a line with a few memories of the "good old days". Sometime when I am home I will try and drop in and see what the modern machines are like....you see, I still hanker after building one of those lovely WWI bi-planes. Best regards, Neil Mirrlees. Name: Alan Lybert Name: Massimo Camellin Name: Terry Jones CommentsAs I come originally from Connah's Quay I was very interested in the site. Congratulations on your website, also Happy Landings. I would love to join your club - shall be along at the next monthly meeting. Name: Tony Bulpitt Name: Tom Witman CommentsGreat, great website. You are so lucky to have no trees around. Eventually, we will be without them also as we routinely fly into them in an effort to knock them down. Our club field is also built on a closed landfill site that we have improved over the years. We have about 30 members who fly 2-3 times per week. Name: Robert Linder CommentsTaking up the Hobby again after a 15 year absence. The progress has been mind-boggling. I am teaching my 12 yr. old son to fly on an electric 3 ch. Just surfing around to see what the RC world is up to. Enjoyed my visit to your site. Get all the youngsters involved that you can!! Name: Mike Chilson CommentsNice site... Enjoyed the pictures... Mike. Name: Ron Berg CommentsHello from the USA. I was directed to this site by fellow scale modeller, and your member, Colin Campbell. Nice site and great work on the newsletter. Very professional looking. Name: Dennis Garsden CommentsI am 63 years of age. My dream since the age of 15 has been to own a radio controlled glider. This Christmas my wife bought me one (a Ripmax Star Gazer with SkySport ss2/ss3 Single stick). The box for the glider says "Almost ready to fly". Unfortunately the assembly instructions I find confusing. Do you think that someone in your club could help me to fulfil my 50 year old dream?? Dennis Garsden. 0151 334 3214 Name: Rob CommentsAm thinking of moving on from Artesania ships to RC aircraft. preferably a WWII bomber to build then learn to fly. Arse about face I know, but that's me. Any ideas where one can buy such kits? Name: Charles Philpott CommentsNice to see that the old club is still going strong - I was there at the birth. Keep up the good work Name: Jamie Lewis CommentsCan anyone help me? I am trying to achieve an aerial scene for a film I am making for my degree course. Basically I would like a birdseye sweep across an open space like a valley or park and was hoping somebody courageous would help me by attaching my mini DV camera - it weighs 612g with tape and battery - to their r/c aircraft and then giving it a couple of minutes in the air - if this is in fact possible!? Any help or advice that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated, so please e-mail me if you can help. And well done, the site is great as it's user-friendly and not convoluted like so many websites are. Name: Neil Tomkinson CommentsI was hoping you might help.
